Inverse Problem

Inverse Problem Theory, I have been reading this book since Tuesday, this is the first task of my thesis, but i found it difficult to understand the content of the book, some of the definitions are really abstract. Inverse problem is like trying to get to know or think of the things in the opposite way, like the measurements of gravity field around the earth, we could predict the values of gravity field by maeasuring the distribution of mass inside the planet, and there are different distributions of mass that give exactly the same gravity field in the space outside earth, as to inverse problem is to infer the mass distribution from observations of the gravity field. At beginning i thought this book was about the math, mechanics and computations, but it's not sheer calculations, i think i will have to spend more time to read it so as to understand it.
Today Glenn and Dees visited us, two new missionaries, we think they are as awesome as the others, i received a letter from Tom, he told us he was doing well in Homstad and made a lot of new friends, Nathan now is studying in Utah, we all miss them so much~
